Does anything and everything that happens at Manchester United have to be given the OK from Ronaldo?
Manchester United took a heavy defeat at the weekend away at Manchester City, losing 6-3, to be fair it was a training session for City who didn’t play amazingly well, but were excellent for around 70 minutes.
Soon after the game was finished to talk soon turned to the god that is Ronaldo! Why didn’t he start the game, why didn’t he come on (Ronaldo was an unused sub), United are disrespecting Ronaldo and everything else related to Ronaldo!! Now this might just be talk to try and take away from the fact the United is just a bang average team at best, that took a massive defeat to most likely the best team in the world right now!
Ronaldo is now 37 years old, if he played in this game he would not have made one bit of difference, he can not last 90 minutes and he can not carry this amazingly poor United team, City would have still ripped apart United’s defense and midfiled, to be honest, so Ronaldo wouldn’t have made any differnce. This issue for United now, is that Ronaldo has become a god-like figure within the club, absolutely everything that happens at United leads back to an issue with Ronaldo, he plays, he doesn’t play, he doesn’t like the training, he doesn’t like the formation, he doesn’t like what other players are eating, he doesn’t like how other players train and everything else you can think of!
For me, this isn’t right at all, but this isn’t anything new at United, who has years of this with Pogba, who, let’s be honest didn’t improve United at all and if we going to be fair Ronaldo hasn’t really improved this poor United side at all. Yes, Ronaldo is a great player, in fact, one of the best players in the world for a long time BUT Ronaldo is now 37 years old, he is not the player he was, he can not play everything game and he can not play 90 minutes. Of course, he needs to have a level of respect but not at the expanse of the current team of the club itself. Ronaldo should have gone in the summer and Manchester United should have moved on from Ronaldo!
