Liverpool v Man Utd

Saturday October 14th 2017

David De Gea’s awesome save is the only main talking point in this very dull game from two of the top teams in the Premier League.

Liverpool’s defence had very little to do with Romelu Lukaku getting less than twenty five (yes 25!) touches of the ball in the whole game!

To be fair Liverpool did control the game but were very poor up front, apart from the awesome save by De Gea, Liverpool never looked like scoring.

Jose Mourinho obviously came to the ‘pool’ with a game plan & a game plan that did the job, a point suits Utd far better then Liverpool, with Utd now 7 points ahead of Liverpool & still top of the table (which could change with Man City playing Stoke City away later today) – Utd will be the happier of the two teams.

As for Liverpool, they do seem to be lacking some real fire power upfront, they did seem to improve when Oxlade-Chamberlain came on for Salah M in the 78th minute of the game, even tho Salah did have another very good game for Liverpool.

Sturridge came on for Coutinho in the 79th minute but made very little impact & it’s hard to see Sturridge hitting the form of his early days at Liverpool anytime soon.

Man Utd turned up with a game plan that worked for them & they will be more than happy with the point, as for Liverpool, they have a lot more work to do!
